Super Typhoon Ragasa impacts Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou

Due to Super Typhoon Ragasa moving across the Luzon Strait and entering the northern South China Sea, it will present a significant threat to the Guangdong coastline. Weather conditions are expected to worsen sharply on Tuesday, 23 September, with the Hong Kong Observatory likely to issue Gale or Storm Signal No. 8 around midday. Adverse weather will persist throughout Wednesday, 24 September, with gale to storm force winds locally, and hurricane-force winds possible offshore and in elevated areas.
Ocean terminal update
Yantian, Shekou, Nansha, and Hong Kong ports have ceased operations from 1200h today (22 September).
Air terminal update
Significant disruption is expected at Hong Kong International Airport, with most flights anticipated to be cancelled from 1800h on 23 September. Normal operations are expected to resume on 25 September.
Shenzhen airport operations will be suspended from 1800h on 23 September, with normal operations expected to resume by 1700 on 24 September.
Guangzhou airport is currently unaffected.
Please expect shipment delays as the backlog at the impacted terminals may take a few days to clear.
