Flooding in Thailand impacts operations

Operations at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) continue to recover following flooding in Bangkok and surrounding areas.

The temporary cargo embargo previously implemented at the affected cargo terminal was lifted on 3 October 2026, and terminal operations have resumed. Additional measures have also been introduced to improve cargo processing and reduce congestion, including expanded cargo handling areas, additional equipment, and operational support resources.

Air freight shipments may still experience some delays as cargo backlogs are worked through and terminal operations continue to stabilise. Customers with time-critical shipments are encouraged to contact their Toll representative to discuss shipment status and any potential impacts.

There have been no significant new developments affecting ocean freight operations since our previous update.

There have been no further developments related to ocean freight since our update dated 29 September 2026.

In relation to air freight, THAI Cargo Terminal Operations has announced a temporary embargo on the acceptance of inbound, outbound, and transhipment cargo at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). The embargo will apply from 0001h on 1 October until 2359h on 6 October 2026, Bangkok time (UTC+7).

Ongoing flooding has affected terminal resources, resulting in significant delays to cargo delivery and transfers to outbound flights. The temporary embargo is intended to support the stabilisation of terminal operations.

Shipments scheduled to arrive, depart, or transit through BKK using the affected terminal may be delayed. Exceptions apply to diplomatic documents, live animals, human remains, and mail.

Our team is reviewing affected shipments and working to identify alternative handling arrangements or routings where available. We will contact customers whose shipments may be affected and provide revised delivery expectations as further information becomes available.

Flooding in Bangkok and surrounding areas is affecting inland logistics and air freight operations. Customers should allow additional lead time and expect possible delays.

Ocean freight
Some container depots, container yards and CFS facilities in Bangkok and Lat Krabang have temporarily suspended operations or are experiencing delays. Most terminals and ports remain operational, but cargo deliveries, empty container returns and transportation may take longer. Please follow any depot diversion instructions provided.

Air freight
Operations at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport are affected to varying degrees across terminals and service providers. Cargo handling, acceptance, and processing may take longer, particularly during peak periods, and temporary delivery restrictions may apply.

Before arranging cargo delivery to Bangkok, please coordinate with your Toll Global Forwarding representative. Allow additional time for trucking, terminal acceptance and cargo processing, and share critical flight or delivery deadlines early so available options can be reviewed.
