Cargo protection during monsoon season

From late June to September, countries in the Indian Subcontinent experience heavy rainfall due to the monsoon season.

As the monsoon season intensifies, shipments face an increased risk of rainwater ingress, moisture damage, and handling-related delays. To ensure the safe transportation of cargo and minimise the risk of damage, we encourage you to implement the following preventive measures:

  • Ensure all cargo is adequately packed using waterproof packaging materials.
  • Shrink-wrapping is strongly recommended for all cargo that may be exposed to rain or moisture during transportation, handling, or storage.
  • For moisture-sensitive cargo, additional protection such as plastic liners, waterproof covers, or pallets should be used wherever applicable.
  • Please ensure all cartons and packages are properly sealed to prevent water ingress.


Please note that cargo shipped without adequate waterproof protection, including shrink-wrapping where required, will be more susceptible to rain and moisture damage during the monsoon season. Any loss or damage arising due to inadequate or insufficient packing may not be considered for claims, subject to the applicable terms and conditions of carriage.
