Toll in Vietnam wins Suntory PepsiCo contract

Share:

Toll’s cost-competitive proposal, combined with its proven capability in beverage logistics in the region, helped it to clinch the contract to provide supply chain solutions for Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage (SPVB) in Vietnam.

As an experienced service provider for the FMCG industry in Vietnam, Toll delivers warehousing, transport and value-added services to three big names in FMCG — Proctor and Gamble, Mead Johnson and SPVB.

“Toll has a lot of experience in the FMCG industry. With strong partnerships with our customers, we believe we have a deep understanding of what FMCG customers want and need from their service providers,” says Toll Group Vietnam General Director Greg Lynn. “That enables us to tailor our services to offer value to support our clients’ requirements. With a strong focus on achieving operational efficiencies we are constantly looking at how we can improve and remain flexible to support our customers today and into the future.”

Delivering on promises made

As a new service provider to SPVB, Toll was under pressure to deliver strongly on its service commitments. And it has done so by resolving challenges at every step and pushing towards better levels of service.

Toll has been entrusted with providing a broad scope of supply chain services to SPVB. This includes the inbound delivery and storage of finished goods from production (covering five production lines), marketing equipment management — branded refrigerators that SPVB leases to the market for storage and merchandising of SPVB products — and tools of trade, which is branded merchandise that promotes SPVB products, such as umbrellas, chairs/stools and other free gifts.

Additionally, Toll’s scope of work with SPVB calls for the transportation of finished goods to a range of their customers including distributors, and key retailers such as supermarkets, convenience stores, hypermarkets, and shopping malls. Toll also manages inbound returns and management of returnable glass bottles, including sorting, washing, de-labelling, staging and metering through to the pre-production of beverages.

Having an eye to the future

To date, Toll’s operations have received much attention, as the greenfield factory/warehouse is now SPVB’s showcase site in Vietnam. To invest in further innovation, both Toll and SPVB are collaborating on a new supply chain transformation program that would support SPVB’s projected growth in Vietnam. Toll will help to drive this transformation while ensuring the continuity of optimal service.

As Toll remains focused on continuous improvement, Toll’s Vietnam team is committed to tailoring its approach to the specific needs of clients and their environments. Ultimately, Toll’s aim is to provide cutting-edge, efficient and future-proof logistics services to SPVB and other companies in Vietnam.
