Every bit helps: 2015 Charity Classic raises much-needed funds for the Ponting Foundation

Thanks to the success of the 2015 Toll Charity Classic golf day, the Ponting Foundation has received more than $79,000 in donations; much-needed funds that go to supporting charity programs, hospitals and ground-breaking research projects engaged in the fight against cancer in Australia’s children and youth.

Guests at the event participated in a full-day golf tournament followed by a Spring Racing Carnival themed gala dinner featuring an auction, live entertainment and celebrity guests. Bidding generously on the range of items at the auction, participants dug deep and raised an impressive grand total for the Ponting Foundation.

Former Australian cricket champion and Ponting Foundation board member, Ricky Ponting (AO) and his wife and fellow board member Rianna visited Toll in Melbourne to personally collect the contribution, thanking Toll for its ongoing support for the Foundation.

Event organiser from Toll Mining Services, Lindsay Mallet, and Toll Government & Resource Logistics CEO, David Jackson, presented the donation to Ricky and Rianna, noting how proud Toll is to be donating the proceeds from the Charity Classic to the Foundation again this year.

“Toll remains committed to supporting the Ponting Foundation and the essential support it provides to young Australians and families affected by cancer,” said Mr Jackson.

The Charity Classic is a highlight of the Toll calendar – every year, our guests look forward to the chance to play a round of golf and raise funds for an iconic Australian charity while they do it. We’re honoured to present this year’s cheque to Ricky and Rianna today and look forward to continuing our support in years to come.
