“The Toll program, although only new, is one of the best I’ve seen. It is so exciting to be able to get such a thorough exposure to so many areas within a company.”
Christie Hill is one of 27 new graduates enrolled in Toll’s 2018 Graduate Program.
Week-long inductions were held last week in Auckland, Melbourne and Singapore, where grads were welcomed to the company, heard from senior managers across the business, and took part in workshops to help develop skills in communication, innovation and working effectively.
The program, established in 2017, gives recent graduates the chance to launch their careers in logistics. Over a two-year span, grads participate in several rotations that expose them to different areas of our business, including Global Logistics, Global Forwarding and Global Express. Two of the Australian graduates will relocate to work in Tokyo with our parent company, Japan Post, while four Japan Post trainees have also joined the program.
Christie says it’s the global nature of logistics that makes her excited to join the industry.
“You learn skills and processes that are applicable all over the world and across multiple industries,” she says. “Every day I meet so many diverse and highly skilled people.”
Bryony Smith, who studied marketing and international business at The University of Auckland, joins the program with Toll in New Zealand and says she’s excited about what’s ahead.
“I can’t wait to get stuck into the rotations and learn as much as possible,” she says. “I’m looking forward to taking part in some of the operational sides of Toll. It will be great to get a deeper understanding of the different divisions and some practical, hands-on experience.”
We welcome this year’s intake of graduates as they take their first steps towards a career in logistics.
