The Toll Thailand team rolled out their first ‘Safety to School Event’ at a local temple school to raise the awareness of road and general safety in the community. Temple schools support families from low-socio economic backgrounds by providing education, uniforms and lunch for students.
The safety messages where delivered via interactive activities where students got to sit inside a Toll truck, learn about driver blind spots, learn about safety signs and traffic lights by watching a Mr Toll safety cartoon video and learnt to identify and understand general safety signs they would see in their local community. Undoubtedly, the most popular activity of the day was collecting safety signs throughout an inflatable Toll truck bouncing castle as part of an educational game.
Although the day was for the children, the Toll team were overwhelmed by the school’s enthusiasm around the safety message they delivered. Helping the children to learn in a fun and interactive environment was well worth the time and effort invested over the past 6 months to make this project possible.
The Toll team also provided some sports equipment to the school that was very much appreciated by the children and the Principal.
Dean Jones – Regional General Manager South East Asia said “This community project is being rolled out in parallel with Toll’s Incident and Injury Free (IFF) program. This connects and elevates our safety journey to a deeper meaning of care in our community. Overall, this underpins the business we are, the values we keep and our position and responsibility in the communities we operate in.”
