The Toll Group today announced the appointment of Françoise Russo as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO) after an extensive international search.

Ms Russo has an impressive record working globally in information technology for some of the world’s largest companies.  After starting her career at Procter & Gamble, she spent seven years at Diageo before spending the last seven years with British American Tobacco (BAT), based in the UK.

Her global experience has included time working across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, North America and Latin America, and she has recently relocated to Melbourne before accepting this role.

Toll Group Managing Director Brian Kruger said that Ms Russo would bring a global viewpoint at a time when the business is embracing new technologies.

“We were conscious of the need to find someone who could bring global experience in digital technologies, business transformation, technology innovation and cost controls. We also wanted someone with a proven track record with business stakeholders and leading large technology teams to drive business success,” Mr Kruger said.

“Françoise has a wealth of experience doing all of these things and we believe she will make a significant impact on the business in delivering IT-related business transformation projects that will make Toll more efficient, and improve outcomes for customers.”

Ms Russo’s appointment will see her join Toll’s Group Senior Executive Committee (GSEC), the second female on the global management committee.
