Toll supports charity helping young people at risk

The Reach Foundation is run entirely by young people, for young people - making the work authentic and relatable.

Our involvement with this year’s Retail Global Conference was important to Toll – not just because we play a key role in the eCommerce sector, but because it gave us the opportunity to lend our support to an important Australian charity.

Earlier this year, Toll sponsored the 10th annual Retail Global Internet Conference (formerly PeSA) that, like Toll, has a strong focus on the rapidly expanding eCommerce sector.

The conference brings together businesses that operate within the eCommerce sector, from online entrepreneurs – most of which are small and medium sized enterprises – to traditional retailers, technology developers and logistics providers to share best practice.

Toll Group General Manager – Consumer & eCommerce, Luke Condon, acknowledged the benefits of coming together with other key businesses in the consumer delivery sector to share insights.

“As the number of people choosing to shop online continues to grow, so too do expectations for convenient, flexible consumer delivery services – whether delivering parcels to the home or alternative collection points” said Mr Condon.

“This conference gives key representatives from all across the eCommerce sector the opportunity to come together and find new and better ways to service our customers – from the first click of their mouse to the moment their parcel is delivered.”

As part of the conference each year, Retail Global hosts a gala networking event where guests are invited to enjoy dinner and participate in a charity auction to raise money for a chosen cause.

In addition to sponsoring the event, Toll contributed prizes to the auction including an Essendon Football Club AFL guernsey signed by the entire 2016 team, and tickets to watch an AFL game from a corporate box at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Proceeds raised at this year’s conference totalled more than $77,000, and went to support The Reach Foundation – a youth organisation that runs national schools and community-based programs that promote mental health and wellbeing for all young people, no matter their circumstances.

“It was really gratifying to know that Toll was able to make a contribution to Reach, which does terrific work,” said Mr Condon.

“I recommend people watch a quite inspirational video Reach has produced to get an understanding of the positive impact they are making on the community.”
