Toll helps to light the night in the fight against cancer
In cities and towns across Australia throughout September, October and November, people will be coming together and illuminate the night sky with blue, white and gold lanterns – to show support for those affected by blood cancer, to represent their own journey, and to remember loved ones.
This year marks Toll IPEC’s fifth anniversary as the national logistics partner for Light the Night, an annual fundraising walk hosted by the Leukaemia Foundation – a national charity dedicated to helping Australians with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood disorders survive and go on to experience a better quality of life.
Since 2012, Toll IPEC has provided in-kind support for Light the Night events, donating transportation and logistic support for this important cause. Beginning work in July, our Western Australian operations work closely with the Foundation to make sure the beautiful gold, white and blue lanterns arrive on time to shine.
Our bulk and metro operations work with our local pick up and delivery (PUD) teams to transport containers and boxes full of lanterns from Western Australia to each of the flagship Light the Night events around the country.
This year we delivered 100 boxes to Perth’s Light the Night event, 80 boxes to community events across Western Australia, and two 40ft containers to events hosted across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
“Toll’s support has been phenomenal, and helped to change the lives of Australian people receiving lifesaving treatment for blood cancer,” said Andrew York, General Manager of the Leukaemia Foundation in Western Australia.
“The logistics services provided by Toll allow the Leukaemia Foundation to continue to support families around Australia”
