Toll Charity Classic continues to support the Ponting Foundation

Toll Charity Classic continues to support the Ponting Foundation

Each year the Toll Charity Classic does a whole lot more than give participants the chance to test their golfing skills in a great day on the green; it also raises much-needed funds for important Australian charities.

One of these charities is the Ponting Foundation – an organisation dedicated to doing everything possible to help young Australians and their families beat cancer.

Thanks to the generous donations received from guests, and the success of the event’s auctions and raffle, the 2014 Charity Classic raised $70,000 for the foundation.

Ponting Foundation board members joined event organiser Lindsay Mallet from Toll Mining Services, Toll Government & Resource Logistics CEO David Jackson and Toll’s Managing Director Brian Kruger in Melbourne on Friday where they were presented with the donation.

Chairman of the Ponting Foundation board, Trevor O’Hoy, thanked Toll for its continued support and generosity.

“The Ponting Foundation simply would not be able to continue making a difference in the lives of young Australians with cancer and their families without the support of organisations like Toll,” Mr O’Hoy said.

“This money will be used to support the Exceptional Needs Assistance program – a joint initiative between Redkite and the Ponting Foundation that assists families experiencing rare and severe needs in addition to coping with a child’s cancer diagnosis.”

David Jackson acknowledged the importance of the partnership between Toll and the foundation, as one based on mutual values.

“As an organisation Toll is committed to actively contributing to the community – a commitment that we share with the Ponting Foundation” Mr Jackson said.

“We are proud of our ongoing partnership with this important Australian charity and will continue to provide our support through this year’s Charity Classic in September.”

Proceeds from the 2015 Charity Classic will once again go to support the Ponting Foundation and its Exceptional Needs Assistance joint initiative with Redkite.

The 2015 Toll Charity Classic will be held on 4 September –  for more information and to register, go to www.tollgroup.com/charityclassic.
