Preparing marine drilling rigs for shipment

Toll’s Scotland-based team rises to the challenge when asked to handle a complex African-bound shipment of marine drilling equipment.

The Challenge

Boskalls Rock Fall Company Ltd, based in Ayrshire, Scotland, has been at the forefront of the marine drilling and rock blasting industry since 1956.

Boskalls engaged Toll to handle a complex shipment: to transport a range of drilling rigs and supporting equipment to Casablanca, Morocco, to use in creation of one of the largest trenches in the Port of Casablanca.

The shipment was required to be delivered within 19 days.

The Solution

The challenge of tight deadlines was complicated further when Toll was required to source another seven 40ft open containers for the range of equipment to be transported alongside six of the client’s own 20ft containers of machinery.

The Result

Our Toll team in Glasgow were able to source and book the extra containers required to ship Boskalls equipment. The team’s quick planning and access to the required shipping equipment resulted in the successful delivery within the tight turnaround times.

Over the six years of working together, the Toll team in Glasgow has continued to achieve our shipment deadlines. The communication and service levels received have been more than we had hoped. The professionalism of the company and its staff has never let us down.”
